Great place to get out and have a beverage. The owner was kind enough to entertain me with a game of pool. I will say I think he let me win. Looking forward to bringing in the New Year at his other location.
It was a great place to eat and fellowship. The food was fantastic
Waitress- seemed slightly new somewhat uniformed, but nice enough and attentive.Place was clean but not polished.Food was wonderful Mexican food that was well seasoned to American standards. Which made it a little less authentic. Tasted great with a very nice presentation.45$ for a family of four to eat. Nice view of the Miller Park.
Great up and coming local restaurant with the best chimichangas around!
My husband & I had breakfast here & the food was good, the server was terrific.
Great food, big portions, and Eric is a good dude!
Best mexican egg rolls ever and chips and salsa
Food was hot & fresh.
I went in on a hotter/humid day and the inside did not provide much relief so things were humid and sticky, but not a deal breaker. Overall I was happy with the taste, quantity, and pricing. There are better options I'd visit for future meal outtings but if it's close to you and you want decently priced Hispanic cuisine, go for it.
Great staff. Everybody's cool and nice.
Good food
Will come back next time we are in the area. We walked over from the splash pad and park and ordered take out. I had my 2 month old twins and 2 year old with me and the service as exceptional! The owner was there and opened the door for our strroller, turned on the air so we could cool off and we had a wonderful conversation. Very friendly and welcoming. Food was delicious and fresh. You could tell it was made with love. Prices were just right and I fed my 3 boys and myself for a very reasonable price. I would recommend this place for sure.
Great service and the food was good!!
Delicious hole in the wall American/Mexican food for breakfast lunch and dinner. It's not fancy or gourmet, just a tasty neighborhood spot.
Small, cheap, and deliciou, just want I want in a bar/restaurant.
Decided to try Eric’s because of all the radio advertising. It wasn’t exactly what I was expecting but the food was good. I ordered the steak tacos on corn tortilla with onions and cilantro. I also ordered chips and salsa because another reviewer said they were the best. I liked them but I’ve never heard of an authentic Mexican restaurant that doesn’t offer a basket of chips and salsa for free. Lastly, I tried the Mexican egg roll with chorizo (never heard of that before). It was too greasy for my taste. Tortilla chips were also greasy. If this was an authentic Mexican restaurant with all authentic Mexican food it would be better. No need for the tenderloin and the egg breakfast. I agree with other reviewers... it is a dive, smells a little bad and the water has a bit of a dirt taste. There is an annoying loud bell they ring when food is really. That was pretty annoying.
I was ericks tacos in Bloomington out by farm n fleet Saturday about 100pm ordered 9 tacos 25 dollars all were on corn flour tortillas when I got home every dam taco the tortillas were so stale it was hard chewing them it was my first time there and it will be my last time smitty el Paso il
The food was great. Large portions, reasonable prices and it came out quickly(once ordered) still hot. On the other hand, it was very warm in the restaurant(in the middle of June) and after we were sat we had to watch our waitress clean another table before we were offered drinks. It definitely was not good customer service. Probably won't be visiting again
The breakfast tacos are amazing!
Love this place and the people! Best Mexican breakfast I've ever had
Just visited this neat and cozy restaurant for the first time today. Great service and affordable prices! We had breakfast that was served hot and yummy! Will definitely be back!
The menu is less than desirable; they lack traditional Mexican entrees/cuisine, and do not offer much as replacements. The menu items are mediocre. Seating and atmosphere is very old looking; uncomfortable banquet chairs at tables and low, old stools at the bar. The drinks are expensive and without free chips or salsa. In my opinion, I don't recommend.
Love the food from Eric's! They accommodated our group of 13 easily and timely. The tamales were the best!
Had a delicious salad with generous portions. The mexican corn was pretty good as well. I used the online ordering but it didn't seem to be seamless but other than that everything was fine.
Nice laid back chill spot! Best tacos in town!
My friend and I were the only people there. The food had good flavor, but it was barely warm. Our waitress was very nice.
The food. Amazing. Mexican egg rolls..
Great food reasonably priced
First time there since Eric opened was good. Service was excellent, food was good sized portion. Plan to go again.
Great service and good food, Monday special of liver and onions!
If I could rate this restaurant a zero, I would. The place wasn't busy. Waited 10 minutes to have the waitress come and get drink order, waited another 10 min to get that. We were only a party of 4. Our sons got chips n cheese. Cheese was ok, chips were nasty. I got the steak fajitas - cold, no flavor, tough as a rock. My husband had the tenderloin. It did not come out as big as they advertised in their menu. He said it tasted like it went thru dirty grease, still cold as well as the fries. The atmosphere was dirty!! The floors looked like they NEEDED SERIOUS TLC! Huge flies flying all over the place as well as their dead carcases on window seals and seats. Hadn't been in there for a few years, and thought it would change! Instead it got WORSE!! NEVER WILL WE BE GOING BACK, NOR RECOMMENDING IT TO ANYONE!!
Easy description. Hole in the wall local bar and restaurant. Don't let the look fool you. The food is legit. All fresh, amazingly prepared. Literally the best fresh tortilla chips I have ever had. Do yourself a favor. Go there. Grab a beer, sit at the bar and enjoy some great food. You'll thank yourself.
Ordered 2 tacos and fried mushrooms which took about 25 mintues. My tacos were cold and not pleasing to the eye. It was high cost for low service. Would recommend taco bell or taco johns.
Great food! I love the breakfast and had catfish many times too (my favorite) Amazing service, thank you guys! Keep up the good work
Luv it
STOP before you enter. I suggest you go to a real food establishment. The food here was straight out of a box. Dump can not begin to describe this place. The service was mediocre and atmosphere was like a cheap cafeteria. Good Luck if you decide to walk in AND dont forget the Ammodium AD.
Great lasagna...the soups always bring the flavor!
I ordered 3 steak tacos only. Cilantro and onion and all I got was onion on my tacos and my taco shells were hard but I did not order hard tacos And when I called to tell the lady all she said was mhm mhm mhm that is terrible service and I would not recommend eating here !!!!
Are on the bar side and the food was amazing. I love burritos, and Eric's Famous Burrito was one of the best I've ever had. Homemade chips were still warm and my wife loved the enchiladas!
Nice service, great food. Taco's were awesome.
Delicious food, nice pool table area with poker if you like gambling
When we walked in I was hit by the smell. It reminded me of the bathrooms at Clinton lake in high summer. The only reason I gave 1 star is that the waitress was nice and there is a lot of room for improvement.
Great food and atmosphere. Love karaoke nights on Wednesday and Fridays.
only reason I gave it one star because i couldn't find a lower one
Very satisfying, our group of 9 had a combination of burgers and Mexican, everyone had a good meal
Best Mexican food in town! If you don't like spicy just tell them. If you like extra spicy just tell them. If ur looking for a nice casual place to relax, visit friends, have drinks and eat great food with very generous portions then Eric's is the hot spot. Letty is on W. Wood St on North side of Miller Park and Eric II is at intersection of W. Market St and i55/i74 in the old Country Kitchen restaurant. There you can find Eric. Yummy either place.
I really wanted to like this place. It's super cute and the waitress was super nice, but the place smells like a restroom/basement. The odor is very strong. Since we were the only patrons, we felt obligated to order. I was scared to eat the food mostly because of the smell, but also because we could see into the kitchen and it looked unkempt/dirty. We picked at our food and left.
Great food! Early hours. Stop in for a Mexican breakfast burrito and a bloody mary.
